Reads Vanta desktop exports and Vanta Connect exports. Format is detected from the column headers, so there is nothing to map. Drop several files in at once if a hole spans more than one export.

Survey setup

▶

Projects and prospects are not built in. Import a reference JSON for your own ground and it is remembered on this browser, or leave the boxes blank. Export saves your current reference to share.

03

Thresholds and lithology

▶

Nothing is preloaded. Set the elements and cut offs you want to work to, then save them against the prospect so they come back next time. A threshold in percent is converted before comparison, so a value can never be compared against the wrong unit.

Rock type

The classifier out of the logging workbook, keeping its cut offs but letting you move them. A ratio splits felsic from intermediate from mafic, then a second element splits the mafic end. Readings where the ratio cannot be worked out, usually because one of the two came back below detection, fall through to the last class rather than erroring.

QAQC readings

▶

Blanks and standards are picked out of the reading stream by sample ID and held out of the background statistics. Anything matched by similarity rather than exactly is marked so you can check it. These are identification only, since a handheld cannot verify a certified gold value.

Instrument drift

Every reading of the same puck is tracked in the order it was taken. Drift is the trend across that series as a percentage of its own mean, so it works whether or not a certified value has been entered. Add the certified values for your pXRF pucks and it will also show bias against them.

05

Running background

▶

The background is kept per prospect as a pooled distribution rather than a growing pile of raw rows, so adding a batch twice cannot double count it and the percentiles stay honest. Export it to move it between machines.

The highlighted column is the number drawn as the background proxy line on the downhole plots and shown beside each threshold. It is a proxy, not a measurement: p50 is the typical rock at this prospect, while p90 and p95 sit up in the tail and are really anomaly threshold proxies that assume roughly that share of your samples are anomalous. Nothing here drives the flagging, which uses only the thresholds you set.

Sampling plan

▶
Flagged metres and their buffer go out as single metre ConeSplit. Everything else is composited as Scoop. Intervals are built to butt up against each other with no overlap, because Plexer rejects overlapping intervals on import.

QAQC insertion rules

Each rule fires on the last two digits of the sample number. A reserved number is consumed by its QAQC row rather than skipped, so the book stays aligned with the pad. Rules change between programs, so add and retire them as you go.

Check an existing sheet

▶

Paste a submission sheet, including its header row, to check it against the insertion rules above and against the interval rules Plexer enforces on import. Works on any sheet, whether this tool built it or not.

Readings table

▶

The readings laid out the way they are read on paper, one row per reading with hole, interval and sample ID up front. Each element carries its one sigma error as a percentage and a confidence band, set in step 01. Elements use whatever unit you set in step 03, so a threshold in percent shows the element in percent. Export it to CSV and it opens straight into Excel.
